sony 50mm f1.4 vs minolta 50mm f1.7

due on demand i have test on 50mm again.
50mm f1.7 vs 50mm f1.4

different aperture shape.

looks a same.

look closer the diameter size of both. sony seems bigger bcoz f1.4.

dats a lot different at the back!!

here comes the flare test.
full open f1.7, coz largest aperture in minolta.

full open oledi have different with the flare test oledi, how ya compare?

aperture at 2.5

getting worst with the purple flare, and cant c the word on the bike.

worst at f8 for both.

minolta creates large area blue flare. sony still have flare around dat, but to compare, it less problem to compare.

at f16.

less flare oledi but still merely can c the flare, watched out the sharpness of the minolta. It's not as sharp as sony. So sony do have best quality in any aperture.

sharpness test on full large aperture 1.7

sony did show the clearest picture and sharpness!!

aperture @ 2.5

still can c both oso got flare in it but sony do have a clear object, and minolta's object spoiled bcoz of the flare.

original picture.

can c sony deliver a clear high focus on the bike even with flare.

In conclude, sony do own the worthy of it in bokeh, sharpness, and flare. besides dat, estimate carl zeiss coating on this 50mm and heavier than f1.7 bout twice, this how u all consider the quality of 1:3 price to compare.
